Rockville Peace Rocks was founded by Trianna Beckwith (Tree) in March 2018, inspired by The Kindness Rocks Project. Our goal is simple: to spread peace, kindness, and joy, one painted rock at a time. This journey began as a tribute to my mother, Tina McCreery Kurzendoefer, a US Army Veteran who passed away on June 19, 2017. After her passing, I found solace in painting rocks, which became a way to heal and find peace. As we continued our journey, we discovered the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in Rockville, Maryland, which quickly became our favorite spot. We've enjoyed celebrating the Fourth of July there and even met Dr. Brenner, the inventor of the Bank Shot game. Our connection with Mattie's legacy deepened when we met Jeni Stepanek, Mattie's mom, also known as Mama Peace. We were personally invited by Jeni to set up a peace station table, where we brought both already painted kindness rocks and more rocks for guests to paint and place in the garden for Mattie's Birthday Peace Day celebration 2024, creating hundreds of Mattie Peace Rocks for the event. I've been inspired by Mama Peace since the day she reached out to Rockville Rocks in the Rockville Rocks FB Group to be a part of Mattie's Peace Day. Finally meeting her in person for the Who's Mattie Kings Farm Mosaic event and having a one-on-one cup of tea at One Republic coffee shop, where she mentored me with her kindness and insightful conversations, has been truly uplifting. We even conducted our own Rockville Kindness Peace Rocks Workshop with her during one of her Mama Talks events, which took place on my birthday, December 17, 2024—a cherished memory, especially the pair of pink socks she gifted me. I'm now working on becoming fully Peace Certified. Today, Rockville Peace Rocks is a vibrant social community with partners in peace rock art and peace artists across the globe. Since 2018, we've shared over 2500 painted rocks locally, each one a symbol of hope, inspiration, and the human spirit. We invite you to join us in spreading peace, joy, and kindness through our rock painting workshops, one rock at a time. You can reach out to her at TREE@rockvillepeacerocks.com.

Rocks Painted by CJ.
I discovered my first painted rock on a morning walk in 2019. That little dragon rock inspired me to start my journey as a peace artist. It amazed me that someone took the time to paint that little dragon to put a smile on my face. I was feeling sad that morning, and I needed that little dragon. From that day on, I developed a passion for spreading kindness through kindness rocks. I started painting with paint pens, but now I only paint with paintbrushes. I am disabled, and my hands don't work well. I'm able to hold a paintbrush, but I cannot hold a paint pen. I always tell everyone that every rock I paint is a gift from God. Spreading kindness one rock at a time. - CJ.
This rock I made a few years back was a special request. It's in French.

Hello! I'm Brianna, a passionate artist, educator, and kindness advocate. By day, I work in special education for the School District, empowering students to find their voice. By night, I create art that spreads love, positivity, and inspiration through kindness rocks.
As a mom to a middle schooler, I cherish family time and enjoy crafting sensory toys with my best friend Katelyn. Painting rocks has become a labor of love, connecting me to my sister Trianna despite the distance between us.
As a Rockville ☮️ Rocks Peace Partner, I'm dedicated to sharing the healing power of art therapy with my community, especially through rock painting workshops. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops and events! 🌎❤️
